What Changed With the June 2026 Amnesty Extension?

Public Safety Canada has extended the firearms amnesty period once again. The previous expiry date of October 30, 2026 has been replaced with a new deadline tied to the ongoing Supreme Court of Canada legal challenge.

The amnesty will now expire 90 days after the Supreme Court of Canada renders its decision. The extension provides additional time for affected firearm owners and businesses while legal proceedings continue.

Importantly, the extension does not reverse the prohibition, reclassify affected firearms, or remove existing compliance obligations.

What Has NOT Changed?

• Prohibited firearms remain prohibited.

• The amnesty does not restore previous firearm classifications.

• Safe storage requirements remain in effect.

• Transportation restrictions remain unchanged.

The Combatting Hate Act (Bill C-9) confirms the Government of Canada’s commitment to strengthen protections for communities being made to feel afraid because of who they are, how they worship, or where they gather.

Why Alberta, Canada?

Although this series focuses primarily on Alberta legislation and Canadian examples, this is not an Alberta story. It is not even a Canadian story.

Then the consultation battles.
Then the evacuation orders.
Then the land is burned, access is disrupted, communities are displaced, and the same development interests remain waiting beneath the ash.
That does not prove who started the fires.
It does make the pattern impossible to ignore.

When First Nations communities resist mines, roads, transmission corridors and resource extraction, Canadians should be asking who benefits from their displacement. Instead, they are busy yapping about land acknowledgments while entire communities burn.

Follow the projects.
Follow the land.
Follow who gains when resistance is removed.
No one is putting out those fires.

Mining claims in the Ring of Fire region are up 66 % over the last three years and now total an area 14 times the size of Toronto, an environmental group said Wednesday after compiling the data.

There are now more than 43,000 claims in the region that is some 450 kilometres north of Thunder Bay, Ont., said Anna Baggio, the conservation director of Wildlands League.

“The claims are exploding, so that’s a problem,” said Baggio, who extracted the data from the Ontario Geological Survey site.

“The problem is that much like the rest of Canada, this is all happening under a free entry system where anyone can register a claim as long as they have a prospector’s licence and do the Mining Act course.”

Ontario has recently tabled legislation, known as Bill 5, that would create so-called special economic zones where any project can be exempt from laws and regulations.

Premier Doug Ford has said the Ring of Fire region would be the first such zone and the resources buried there would be crucial to dealing with U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs that triggered a trade war with Canada.

The omnibus bill also proposes to gut protections for endangered plants and animals so that development, particularly mining projects, can be done significantly faster.

The bill has sparked anger and criticism from First Nations, environmental groups and civil liberty organizations while garnering support from the mining industry.

Energy and Mines Minister Stephen Lecce said the province is working to support two main companies that hold the vast majority of claims in the area by providing infrastructure and the regulatory environment to build mines faster.

“It is a massive bounty of resources of rare earths that the world needs,” Lecce said.

“These special economic zones are pretty much cheat codes for the government to take control of the land, or what they call ‘for strategic purposes,’” Mamakwa said.

PART 1: Water, Food and Building a Deep Pantry

If one could only encourage people to prepare one thing, it would not be food, it would be water. While the human body can survive for weeks, and in some circumstances even longer, with very little food, it can survive only a matter of days without water. Every cell in our body depends on it. Water regulates our temperature, transports nutrients, removes waste products, lubricates our joints and enables every biochemical reaction necessary for life. Even mild dehydration can impair concentration, mood and physical performance.

Many of us simply assume that safe drinking water will always flow from our taps. Yet a prolonged power failure, flooding, contamination, drought or disruption to water treatment facilities could quickly interrupt that supply. (Please see my previous article on tap water.) This is why every household should think about water in three ways:

Firstly, store water. Keep a supply of bottled drinking water or food-grade water containers sufficient for a several weeks. Rotate your supply periodically so it remains fresh.

Secondly, know where alternative water sources are. Is there a river, stream, lake or reservoir within walking distance of your home? Could you safely collect rainwater? Simply becoming aware of your local environment is an important part of preparation.

Thirdly, have a reliable method of making water safe to drink.

One of my favourite pieces of emergency equipment are mini water filters. Small enough to fit in a pocket, they can filter bacteria, protozoa, parasites and microplastics from natural water sources such as rivers and lakes. A good quality mini filter can filter a huge volume of water over its lifetime.

Also consider keeping water purification tablets, such as chlorine dioxide tablets, available at most camping shops, as part of your emergency supplies. Used correctly, they help destroy bacteria, viruses and many other harmful microorganisms.

It is important to understand the limitations of these methods. CDS doesn’t and mini filters may not remove heavy metals, industrial chemicals, pesticides or radioactive contaminants. If fuel is available, boiling water remains one of the most reliable methods of disinfection and water distilling will produce pure water free from most of the above.

The safest strategy is therefore not to rely on one solution but to layer your protection. Store water. Filter it. Purify it when necessary. Learn these skills before you ever need them. Water is life. Everything else comes second.

Food For Survival

The body doesn’t simply need calories. It needs protein to repair tissues, healthy fats to support hormones and brain function, carbohydrates to provide energy, vitamins and minerals to fuel thousands of biochemical reactions, and antioxidants and phytonutrients to protect our cells from damage. What Is Surveillance Pricing? How It Differs Dynamic Pricing

Surveillance pricing is the practice of using personal data, algorithms, and artificial intelligence to set individualized prices for goods or services based on an assessment of a specific consumer's behavior and characteristics. Also called personalized pricing or algorithmic pricing, it works by building a detailed profile of who you are and — critically — how much you are likely to be willing to pay.

The data companies use to make this determination is far more intimate than most people realize. Canada’s new surveillance pricing rules not likely to take effect before 2028

The federal government wants to be “super careful” as it tackles surveillance pricing, Artificial Intelligence Minister Evan Solomon said after tabling the government’s new privacy bill.

Under the plan outlined by Solomon, those rules on surveillance pricing are unlikely to be in place before 2028.

At a press conference, Solomon said one of his first acts once the bill passes will be to direct the new online safety and privacy regulator to issue guidance on what counts as surveillance pricing.

He said in the interview Canadians will then be able to file complaints based on that guidance, which will state what’s allowed and what’s not allowed under the privacy legislation.

“If you don’t comply with that, you’ll be in contravention of the act, and the commission has the full authority to enforce it,” he said.

EMF health effects

Data centers are being fast-tracked at the federal level despite documented human health and environmental harm. Data centers bring together nearly every type of pollution from air, water, land to harmful noise, EMF, and fire risk. Yet regulatory frameworks in place to allow development, lack the holistic oversight needed to address these compounding, multi-system impacts. Communities are blindsided by well-financed corporate pushes, while existing policies evaluate only a few hazards in isolation, creating massive loopholes that fail to protect public health and the environment.

Description

Smoke from wildfires in northwestern Ontario will continue to result in very poor air quality tonight. Poor air quality may persist into Saturday.

During heavy smoke conditions, everyone’s health is at risk regardless of their age and health status. Consider limiting time outdoors.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by wildfire smoke, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should avoid strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Recommended Action

When indoors, keep windows and doors closed as much as possible. When there is an extreme heat event occurring with poor air quality, prioritize keeping cool.

Protect your indoor air from wildfire smoke. Actions can include using the highest quality air filter that your ventilation system can handle and/or a certified portable air cleaner that can filter fine particles.

If you must spend time outdoors, limit the time as much as possible. A well-constructed, well-fitting and properly worn respirator type mask (such as a NIOSH-certified N95 or equivalent respirator) can reduce your exposure to the fine particles in the smoke. Even though exposure may be reduced, there can still be risks to health.

Physicists and “the chemically inclined” spent decades trying to coax electrical currents into a state of absolute, frictionless flow.

To achieve this state of superconductivity, materials must be chilled to temperatures colder than deep space, using liquid nitrogen to still the chaotic, thermal vibrations of atoms… such is a current priority in the development of quantum-computing.

And so… in our typically-ignorant way, we obsessively build elaborate machinery that force inanimate matter into a specific state, forever in search of the next “external” breakthrough, always revolutionary, always materialistically based…

And yet, all the while, a far more elegant version of this exact phenomenon operates where conventional science would, and uncompromisingly so, declare an impossibility, a direct contradiction to “the laws of physics”.

What I am referring to is the warm, wet, and bustling environment of the human body…

The secret to this efficiency lies in the highly organised electromagnetic architecture of our very own “micro-biological-structures”… the origin of cellular-based energy itself, a system that is already superconductive in every way that truly matters.
