Luxury jet from Qatar for Trump’s use
In what may be the most valuable gift ever extended to the United States from a foreign government, the Trump administration is preparing to accept a super luxury Boeing 747-8 jumbo jet from the royal family of Qatar -- a gift that is to be available for use by President Donald Trump as the new Air Force One until shortly before he leaves office, at which time ownership of the plane will be transferred to the Trump presidential library foundation, sources familiar with the proposed arrangement told ABC News.
According to aviation industry experts, the estimated value of the aircraft Trump will inherit is about $400 million, and that's without additional communications security equipment the Air Force will need to add to properly secure and outfit the plane in order to safely transport the commander in chief.

Trump’s Qatar plane would ‘pose immense counterintelligence risks’
By Ellen Mitchell
May 12.25
One of Trump’s closest allies, Laura Loomer, called out the move as a “stain” on the presidency and said she was disappointed that the president would accept this gift.
Boeing had a contract with the U.S. government to replace the pair of aging Air Force Ones — two military versions of the Boeing 747 — since 2018 in Trump’s first term. But the delivery has been delayed until at least 2027.
Trump’s argument that the new Qatari aircraft would save taxpayer dollars is far from sound. The gifted aircraft would need to be retrofitted from the inside out with new power systems, electrical wiring and other technology for secure communications and self-defense — such as in the case of an electromagnetic attack. That process could take years to complete and cost hundreds of millions of dollars, according to aviation experts. What’s more, the aircraft would need to be extensively swept for any foreign software modifications or embedded technology. https://thehill.com/policy/defense/5296641-jack-reed-trump-qatar-plane-counterintelligence-risks/
Qatar and China pour billions into elite American universities
Foreign donors gave as much to U.S. universities in the last four years as they did in the previous 40, according to a new report by the Network Contagion Research Institute shared exclusively with The Free Press. The study shows an explosion in overseas funding for American schools between 2021 and 2024, with nearly $29 billion in foreign money donated during that period.
That $29 billion figure is more than double the total for the preceding four years, and accounts for half of the estimated $57.97 billion in foreign funding since 1986, when the federal government began tracking the data.
While Qatar holds the designation of a major non-NATO ally of the United States, the country is also known for harboring leaders of Hamas and exporting political Islamism, including by supporting the Muslim Brotherhood, across the Middle East. https://www.thefp.com/p/explosion-in-foreign-funding-for-american-universities
