Solid analysis. I have concluded the same regarding religious-level beliefs. My father claims that to believe is the path to God; I counter that to question everything is the path to God. Blind faith believes anything and cannot lead to truth. Questioning everything leads to discovery of truth and, ironically, a whole different type of faith in God. The reason why so many hold religious-level beliefs is because it’s passive; they don’t need to do anything at all (hence the popularity of virtue signaling). Questioning everything requires constant action/work. The awaking will begin to accelerate only when work becomes a verb again, rather than a place people go.
