Who is Impacted?
By Tom Marazzo
The citizens of Canada stand as the most directly impacted group by the issues raised, spanning from ethical violations in government to the curtailment of individual liberties. These issues affect everyone, irrespective of age, background, or political leaning. Ethical lapses in the administration undermine public trust in essential institutions, while infringements on personal freedoms limit individual autonomy, affecting life choices from healthcare to financial transactions. The collective psyche of the nation is at risk, with public skepticism and division growing.
What is at Stake?
If these concerns are not addressed, the democratic fabric of Canada stands to be irreparably damaged. The erosion of ethical governance and individual liberties threatens to morph a democratic society into an authoritarian regime. Should these issues persist or worsen, Canadians may find themselves stripped of their rights, and the power to influence their government severely diminished. Furthermore, the lack of transparency and accountability could lead to long-lasting societal cynicism toward governance, which can endanger the stability and unity of the nation.
Why is Now the Time to Act?
The urgency to act is propelled by the deteriorating public trust and escalating government actions that appear to bypass democratic checks and balances. Each day that passes without rectification adds to the already tense national mood and risks embedding undemocratic practices into the norms of governance. As public divisions deepen and frustrations mount, the window of opportunity for peaceful and constructive change narrows. Immediate action is not just beneficial but essential to halt and reverse these damaging trends before they become an irrevocable part of Canada's political and social landscape.
The Canadian Citizens Declaration of Non-Confidence
We, the citizens of Canada, united under the banner of democracy, justice, and the true north strong and free, call for urgent and meaningful reform from the existing Government. We decry the government's failures and demand immediate redress, in the form of a petition to be read aloud in the House of Commons.
Preamble
In acknowledgment of the undeniable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all individuals, and recognizing that governments exist to protect these rights, we come to this reluctant but essential call for reform.
Grievances
We present these grievances against the existing government as evidence of their negligence, corruption, and betrayal of the democratic principles that have long been the cornerstone of our great nation:
1. Ethical Missteps:
2. Abuse of Power:
3. Foreign Policy Failures:
4. Misallocation of Resources:
5. Erosion of Trust:
6. Threat to National Security:
7. Suppression of Charter Rights and Freedoms:
8. Egregious Assault on Bodily Autonomy and the Trampling of Informed Consent:
Our Resolutions
In light of the grave transgressions and ethical shortcomings exhibited by the current Government, we, the sovereign citizens of Canada, formally issue a Censure against the Prime Minister, his Cabinet, and the entire Liberal Government of Canada. We declare this as an unequivocal expression of our deep-rooted commitment to the fundamental principles of democracy, justice, and liberty that constitute the very foundation of our beloved nation.
To this end, we articulate the following minimum imperatives as terms for restoring integrity, transparency, and competence in governance:
1. Trigger for Elections:
2. Empowering the Electorate:
3. Accountability of Members of Parliament:
4. Preservation of Individual Mandate:
5. Transparency in Foreign Aid and Military Spending:
6. Multi-Provincial Representation:
7. Political Licensure with Oversight:
8. Oath of Veracity:
9. Electoral Reform for Upper House and Head of State:
10. Parental Rights and Guardianship:
11. Preservation of Individual Liberties:
12. Safeguarding National Sovereignty:
In reasserting these principles, we resolve to tirelessly exercise our democratic rights—be it through voting, peaceful assembly, or free expression—until a government that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people is reestablished in Canada.
Consequently, we appeal to the conscience of our fellow Canadians and the international community at large to acknowledge the gravity and legitimacy of our cause. We extend an open invitation for scrutiny, endorsement, and support, as we reclaim our government and our future.
Thus, we stand united, invoking the indomitable spirit of the true north, strong and free, and hereby solemnize this declaration through our collective voice, this day, for ourselves and for posterity.
