Mounting food shortage fears
Unshadowed
May 13, 2026
Wheat futures explode after the USDA dropped a bombshell: 10.5+ million acres of U.S. wheat abandoned, marking the smallest American wheat crop since 1972. Hard Red Winter (the main bread wheat) is getting crushed, with production down sharply and futures limit-up.
Globally it’s no better
Major exporters like Australia (-17%), Argentina (-25%), Canada (-12%), and others are all down at once. The result? A tightening world supply that mainstream analysts say is now raising serious food shortage fears.
Why are farmers walking away from fields? Drought + skyrocketing diesel prices are making harvest uneconomical on millions of acres.
What does this means for you?
Sharply higher prices for bread, pasta, flour, cereals, and baked goods are coming. It also pushes up livestock feed costs, which will drive higher meat, dairy, and egg prices in the months ahead.
How Global Famine Will Reshape the World by 2027
Mike Adams
May 11, 2026
A global famine has been baked into our near future by a combination of deliberate policy decisions and geopolitical brinkmanship. Half the world’s food supply depends on fertilizer. I warned about this for years, and the timeline I gave is now locked in, no matter what happens: some level of mass starvation will hit by 2027.
What follows will dwarf every previous human migration. The United Nations World Food Program has already described the coming crisis as a "perfect storm" that will destabilize entire nations. When people cannot feed their children, they move -- by any means necessary. I believe the coming wave of hungry humanity will be the largest in modern history, reshaping continents and bringing down governments that refuse to acknowledge reality.
The International Monetary Fund has already warned that food shortages will create waves of social unrest across the globe, beginning in the Third World and spreading to developed nations. The United Nations World Food Program has been forced to take food from the hungry to feed the starving -- an admission the system is already broken. Strait of Hormuz – Winner-Take-All Conflict
Mike Adams
May 11, 2026
Many Americans believe the U.S. is energy independent because we produce a lot of oil. That is a dangerous misconception. Our refineries are configured to process heavy, sour crude oil from places like Iran and Saudi Arabia, while the light sweet crude we produce domestically is often exported. When the Strait of Hormuz closes, the heavy crude supply disappears, and our refineries cannot simply switch inputs overnight. The result is a severe shortage of diesel fuel, which powers our trucks, trains, and farm equipment. As I warned in March, diesel prices in America have already surged by 41% since the conflict began.
This crisis was entirely predictable
It is the direct result of globalist policies, financialization, and just-in-time supply chains that prioritize profit over food security. I believe we are watching a man-made famine unfold, and it will start with skyrocketing food prices in American grocery stores.
Provoked preparedness
The government will not save you -- centralized systems are the problem. Your survival depends on your own actions. I have been saying this for years, and now the proof is in the headlines. Do not wait until the shelves are empty. Continues at https://naturalnews.com/2026-05-11-breaking-my-silence-america-food-fuel-shortages.html
