Medical abandonment
By Kelsi Sheren
Jan 08, 2026
If you want to understand how this country slid from “medical assistance in dying” to medical abandonment of the vulnerable look at Dr. Ellen Wiebe.
At a public event I attended on Salt Spring Island, B.C. she openly stated — without hesitation, without discomfort — she has been involved in over 1,000 assisted deaths. She did not say this with gravity, she laughed actually. She did not say it with restraint, she was proud of this.
And this is the doctor who approved the euthanasia of Kiano, a young man living with mental illness, despite Canada’s own acknowledgement that MAiD for mental illness is not supposed to be legal until 2027.
A loophole was found, several we said would be used and abused. Safeguards evaporated. A life was taken, one that was preventable.
That is not an outlier
That is a pattern of behaviour no one seems to want to stop. Continues at https://kelsisheren.substack.com/p/meet-canadas-dr-death-ellen-wiebe
BC provides MAiD for 26-year-old man who was rejected repeatedly in Ontario
Jan 30, 2026
An Ontario family is calling for changes to medical assistance in dying (MAiD) after the death of their son in B.C.
Kiano Vafaeian was 26 years old when he received MAiD on Dec. 30. His family says he lived with Type 1 diabetes and partial vision loss, but says that his biggest struggle was his mental health, which they believe should have made him ineligible for MAID.
“He said everything the doctors needed to hear in order to approve him,” Margaret Marsilla, Vafaeian’s mother, said. “Was he actually feeling that way? I strongly believe not.”

Legal protection from encroachment of euthanasia
Delta Hospice Society’s Do Not Euthanize (DNE) Defence Kit provides tools needed to defend you and your loved ones from encroachment of euthanasia (MAiD) and erosion of Palliative Care services. Below are .pdf copies of the Do Not Euthanize (DNE) Advance Directive and the “MAiD” is not an Option Declaration. Your wallet sized DNE Card is mailed to you when ready.
DNE Defence Kit comes complete with the following:
· Do Not Euthanize (DNE) Advance Directive
· The DNE Advance Directive is a legal document which protects holders against attempts to have their lives terminated unnaturally through medical intervention. Our Advance Directives are also legally specific for all Canadian provinces and territories and comply with each province’s health regulations. Keep your signed DNE with all of your important documents, readily available to be brought to the medical facility in the event of an emergency.
Please note:
When signing the DNE Advance Directive, it is best that both the ‘Adult’ and the witnesses initial each page, with the exception of the signing page (second to last page) and the ‘Notes’ page (the last page). This will ensure that all pages represent the wishes of the ‘Adult’, and that none have been tampered with.
“MAiD” is Not a Health Care Option Declaration
· The Declaration protects you from being spoken to about Medical Assistance in Dying (“MAiD”) as a healthcare option. Make sure any healthcare provider understands that under no circumstances would you consider euthanasia to be a health care “option”. This declaration is intended to be enforceable and legally binding.
Do Not Euthanize National Registry and Wallet-Sized DNE Card
· Each wallet-sized DNE Card has a unique National Registry number, which is registered on our secure National Database. In the event of an emergency, any health care provider can contact us for more information.
Your Wallet-Sized DNE Card with your name as shown and your unique National Registry number will be sent to you by Canada Post as soon as it is ready.

Psychopathy, sociopathy and Duper’s delight, are conditions present in every level of society. If a country legalizes euthanasia, the minimum safe-guard should include to have the executioners examined -on a regular basis- because it appears that Canada’s most prolific killer-doctor is suffering from at least one of these conditions.
