While rebuilding continues, the community comes together for this moving Hawaiian ceremony to say goodbye to loved ones and pay tribute to the island's resilience. As we return from the ceremony by boat, a massive pod of dolphins begins swimming alongside us. According to Hawaiian beliefs, dolphins escort the souls of the recently departed to the afterlife. Very, very touching. May their spirits soar free. I remember, walking out into the ocean by Cape York in Australia & my husband screaming that there were sharks! 🦈 I walked out of the water & he said that he was mistaken; it was Dolphins!🐬 No wonder that I felt so calm. They seem to have that effect on people. It's hard to comprehend, the innocent victims; of the evil, that some do.
