The Illusion of Prosperity
By Michael Cohen
Former Personal Attorney To President Donald J. Trump
Feb 26.25
In the grand theater of American politics, the House Republicans have once again taken center stage, advancing President Trump's tax cut plan with the precision of a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat. But behind the curtain, the real trick is on the American people, especially those who, despite all warnings, cast their votes for the man now orchestrating their financial undoing.
The recently passed budget resolution is a masterclass in political sleight of hand. It promises $4.5 trillion in tax cuts, ostensibly to stimulate economic growth and put more money into the pockets of hardworking Americans. However, a closer look reveals that the primary beneficiaries are the wealthiest individuals and corporations, leaving crumbs for the middle and working classes. The plan also slashes $2 trillion in spending over the next decade, targeting essential programs like Medicaid and food assistance—services that many Trump supporters rely upon.
The tragic irony
It's a tragic irony that the very individuals who propelled Trump to victory are now poised to suffer the most. Many of these voters were drawn in by promises of economic revitalization and a return to American greatness. Yet, despite clear indications during his campaign of intentions to implement such tax policies, they chose to believe in the promise rather than the policy. Now, as the reality of these cuts sets in, it's evident that the safety nets they depend on are being dismantled in favor of enriching the already affluent.
Economic implications
By imposing these tariffs, the administration risks igniting trade wars, prompting retaliatory measures from trading partners, and destabilizing global markets. The resultant uncertainty can deter investment, disrupt supply chains, and ultimately lead to a contraction in economic activity. In essence, the policies designed to protect American interests may end up inflicting significant harm on the nation's economy
Gold cards for wealthy foreigners
Fear not, for the Trump administration has a solution; at least for those with a few million to spare. In a move that would make even the most audacious snake oil salesman blush, the government is now offering $5 million "Gold Cards" that grant U.S. residency to wealthy foreigners. So, while middle and working-class Americans grapple with the fallout of these economic policies, affluent individuals from abroad can buy their way into the American dream. After all, who needs a fair and equitable immigration system when you can simply purchase citizenship?
It’s all theater
It's imperative for the American public to recognize these maneuvers for what they are, a betrayal of the promises made to the very people who placed their trust in this leadership. The dangers of the House Republicans advancing Trump's tax cut plan are manifold, but perhaps the most insidious is the erosion of trust in our political system. When elected officials prioritize the interests of the wealthy and well-connected over those of their constituents, it undermines the very foundation of our democracy.
Choices today become reality tomorrow
In the end, the magic trick is revealed: the rabbit was never in the hat, and the promises of prosperity were nothing more than smoke and mirrors. It's time for the audience to demand accountability, to see through the illusions, and to ensure that future acts on the political stage are performed with integrity and in the genuine interest of all Americans. To change outer reality requires people to first change themselves because technocracy being built by the private sector is a parallel track to a world coup supported by politicians. https://www.ourgreaterdestiny.ca/p/man-is-now-governed-by-machines-stargate
Quotes
When the ancient past is researched the following quotes without a doubt prove true.
In his Discourses Niccolò Machiavelli made two statements that capture our attention: “If one examines with diligence the past, it is easy to foresee the future.”
Massey’s Lectures from the 1880s were published and in them he made these statements: “The past is a region to explore… it is impossible to understand the present without the profoundest knowledge of the past.”
The present is both a necessary consequence of the past and the cause of the future. C.W. Dalton, 1985
