Father of spin
Sigmund Freud’s nephew Edward L. Bernays [1891-1995] was an Austrian-American pioneer in the field of public relations and propaganda, referred to in his obituary as "the father of public relations".
Intrigued by Freud's notion that irrational forces drive human behavior, Bernays sought to harness those forces to sell products for his clients. In his 1928 book, "Propaganda," Bernays hypothesized that by understanding the group mind it would be possible to manipulate people's behavior without their even realizing it. These techniques appealed to the unconscious mind, deliberately sidestepping the conscious, rational mind.
Chapter I Organizing Chaos
Organized habits and opinions of the masses are an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government, the true ruling powers controllers of our country…
We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of…
In the sphere of politics and business, in our social conduct and ethical thinking, we are dominated by a relatively small number of entities who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires that control the public mind.
Chapter IV Psychology of public relations
If we understand the mechanism and motives of the group mind, is it not possible to control and regiment the masses according to our will without their knowing it?
If you can influence the leaders, either with or without their conscious cooperation, you automatically influence the group which they sway. [Controlled opposition]
Men do not need to be actually gathered in a public meeting or in a street riot to be subject to the influences of mass psychology. Because man is by nature gregarious he feels himself to be member of a herd. Even when he is alone in his room with the curtains drawn, his mind retains the patterns stamped on it by group influences.
The group mind does not think in the strict sense of the word. In place of thoughts it has impulses, habits and emotions. In making up its mind its first impulse is usually to follow the example of a trusted leader. This is one of the most firmly established principles of mass psychology. It operates in establishing the rising or diminishing prestige of a summer resort, in causing a run on a bank, a panic on the stock exchange, in creating a best seller, or a box-office success.

Edward L. Bernays interview
Bernays discusses his career, the importance of public relations, and his pioneering use of public relations techniques following World War I.
“I was a member of the United States Committee on Public Information in World War I and worked with the committee to make the world safe for democracy, and popularize throughout the world the Fourteen Points. I found that ideas were weapons and were even more effective than bullets because when Woodrow Wilson said freedom of the seas to the Swiss, who would be neutral in the war recognized they depended on freedom of the seas and came over to our side.”

“The two ‘sides’ of mainstream politics are not fighting against one another, they’re only fighting against you. Their only job is to keep you clapping along with the two-handed puppet show as they rob you blind and tighten your chains while your gaze is fixed on the performance.”—Caitlin Johnstone
This year’s election-year referendum on which corporate puppet should occupy the White House has quickly become a lesson in how the Deep State engineers a crisis to keep itself in power.
Don’t get so caught up in the performance that you lose sight of what’s real. This endless series of diversions, distractions and political drama is the oldest con game in the books, the magician’s sleight of hand that keeps you focused on the shell game in front of you while your wallet is being picked clean by ruffians in your midst.
It works the same in every age
A discontented citizenry, a disconnected government, and a Deep State that wants to stay in power at all costs.
So what happens? Trump has a near miss, Biden bows out, and politics becomes exciting to the masses again. This is how the police state will win, no matter which candidate gets elected to the White House.
You know who will lose? Every last one of us.
After all, politics today is not about Republicans and Democrats. Nor is it about abortion, healthcare, higher taxes, immigration, or any of the other buzzwords that have become campaign slogans for individuals who have mastered the art of telling Americans exactly what they want to hear. Open minded rulers use wisdom against closed minded man
The truth sets us free when we open our mind to new information, accept we are being psychologically manipulated by ruling entities, and apply new information to master our inner world of beliefs that influence our thoughts, feelings and actions.
The next time you find yourself automatically defending a belief or impulsively acting on a desire, pause, then ask yourself two questions:
Did I consciously choose that belief or desire?
Does it serve a hidden agenda over my own best interests?
Chances are you didn’t, and it does.
