Australian Government is protecting young Australians
From 10 December 2025, age-restricted social media platforms will have to take reasonable steps to prevent Australians under the age of 16 from creating or keeping an account.
The restrictions aim to protect young Australians from pressures and risks that users can be exposed to while logged in to social media accounts. These come from design features that encourage them to spend more time on screens, while also serving up content that can harm their health and wellbeing.
As of 21 November 2025, it is eSafety’s view that Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Threads, TikTok, Twitch, X, YouTube, Kick and Reddit are age-restricted platforms. Substack Australia
On Wednesday, Australian Substack authors received a message: “Substack is introducing age verification steps for readers in Australia.”
“To say that I was flabbergasted is an understatement,” author of Informed Choice Meryl Dorey said, because “Substack is NOT social media. And it is NOT being required by the Australian Reichstag to ask for age verification.”

Last week, we noted that Substack had caved into the UK censorship regime and was restricting the content that UK users unless they verified their age with either a selfie or a government-approved ID.
Age verification online is increasingly being integrated with digital ID systems, particularly through government-backed digital identity wallets. Online age verification is becoming a foundational component of digital ID systems with several countries, including the US, European Union member states, the UK and Australia, advancing digital ID frameworks where age verification is a core function.
For example, the GOV.UK Wallet is under development and will be used for identity verification, with age verification being a key application. And in Australia, the Digital ID Act 2024 established the Australian Government Digital ID System, allows users to prove identity online.

Why I Am Shutting Off Paid Subscriptions On This Substack

Yesterday, I received this message from Substack – the platform that supposedly was not going to censor or give in to the efforts of external forces to oppose freedom of speech:

Inner work
Many of the world’s great religions assert “Ask and you shall receive.” Science, too, tells us “Nature abhors a vacuum and immediately seeks to fill it.” So remember, anytime you sincerely ask a question, you are creating space or an opening in your mind that immediately begins to draw in the answer. Your experience of the “filling” of this space will take place as quickly and as efficiently as you are willing to allow.
Until there is true acceptance with anything in life, the mind can’t and hence won’t give meaning and proper action to the matter at hand.

It is totally Amazing to me that gov.s allowing the beating of the elderly ( who were rightfully standing up for exercizing free choice ) are so worried about the youth being aware of some content of the world ..... The P.M.of countries or should I say prisons of canna; azy : and nz are so badly corrupted by greed , avarice and twisted logic ..... It is amazing the next revolution isn't al ready rolling ........
