Bible interpretation and translation
Graham Hancock talks with Mauro Biglino about his work translating the Bible and absence of God in the original text. Mauro, official bible translator for the publishing house San Paulo for the Vatican states:
“The term Elohim was not translated. It remained Elohim because in the world nobody knows the real meaning of the term Elohim so it is better not translated but to leave it as it is exactly. In my contract they wrote that I must make a literal translation so terms Shaddai and Elohim were not translated.”

When I started to explain to the public the real meanings, and when in 2010 I started to write my first book about the literal translations of the Bible, I was fired in one minute. When the relationship finished they started again to translate Elohim with God but when I was working for them Elohim was not translated.
14:33 mins Graham H: YHVH it’s supposed to mean “I am that I am” is that incorrect?
Mauro B: No, no. It’s not correct because nobody knows the real meaning of the Tetragrammaton because when it was pronounced the Hebrew language did not exist, so nobody knows in what language it was pronounced.
Most English translations of the Bible represent the Tetragrammaton with “LORD” or “GOD” in all capital letters. In the consonantal Hebrew text: YHWH
Graham H: You’re saying the Hebrew language did not exist and when it was pronounced are we talking about to Moses?
Mauro B: Yes.
Graham H: Nobody can absolutely confirm that Moses was a real historical figure at all, but if he was then they would put the date at 1200 BC?
Mauro B: 1200 or in the opinion of other scholars 500 BC.
Graham H: When did the Hebrew language come into existence?
Mauro B: In that moment Aramaic was the international language, as with English now, but we don’t know in what language the so-called Yahweh spoke. We do know the vowels of Yahweh were inserted 2,000 years after their first pronunciation, so nobody knows the real sound of this name.
Graham H: If we accept the early date for Moses 1200 BC, you’re saying the language Moses spoke could not have been Hebrew. Could it be ancient Egyptian?
Mauro B: Yes.
Graham H: Is it controversial to say the Hebrew language did not exist in 1200 BC?
Mauro B: In that time, a form of language started to exist, which is defined as Old Hebrew but it’s not Hebrew because the Hebrew really started to exist as a dialect of Western Semitic only in the 10th Century before Christ.

Ruach - important clarification

Mauro presents 2 arguments: how the bible is usually interpreted in a strictly dogmatic way and how we can understand exactly what it says.
Ruach, the supposed Divine Spirit for theologians presents itself with physical manifestations both visually and audibly. To translate Ruach as the Spirit of God is a mistake.

Moral problem
28:00 mins Paul and Mauro are not the first to point out the moral problem when you translate the Elohim stories as God stories. Elohim, the plural form verb is clear in the Hebrew, which survived the 7th to 6th Century BC edit. What that information did not survive is the translation into English, which hides the fact that Abraham is actually referencing many powerful entities.
There were significant Church fathers in the beginning of Christianity who pointed this out very clearly, wishing to nudge the Church away from regarding the Hebrew scriptures as foundational for Christianity, a decision already taken in Acts 15 and yet the arguments had to be had all over again in the first one, two, three, four Centuries of Christianity.
Interlinear Bible
This is the power of the work Mauro has done. As a translator of interlinear bibles he had to give a very precise rendering of each word in the Hebrew text with no interpretation, no theological orthodoxalization. Simply report what is in the text.
Then, you have the translations either side with Elohim, the plural form verb in the Hebrew that was changed into a singular form word because the translators wanted this to be about God when it clearly was not.
