Nature itself has looked at modern American bread and decided it does not qualify as food… Yet the USDA has approved every single ingredient that makes preservation possible. The FDA signed off on every chemical that keeps bread sitting unchanged on shelves for weeks at a time. The agencies supposedly protecting the American food supply decided shelf stability and corporate profit margins are more important than whether the products you feed your children bear any resemblance to actual food.
What You Are Actually Eating?
Walk into a bakery anywhere in France or Italy or Germany and ask to see the ingredients in a standard loaf of bread. You will receive a very short list: flour, water, salt, yeast, and perhaps some olive oil. Five ingredients at most, all of which a medieval peasant would recognize, all of which have been combined in roughly the same proportions to make bread for as long as humans have been baking.
Now pick up a loaf of sandwich bread from any American supermarket and read the ingredient label. You will find something that looks less like a recipe and more like the manifest for a chemical supply shipment. Enriched wheat flour, which itself contains a subcategory of added ingredients including malted barley flour, niacin, iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, and folic acid. Water. High fructose corn syrup, because apparently bread needs to be sweetened with industrial sugar derived from government-subsidized corn. Yeast. Soybean oil. Salt. Wheat gluten, added on top of the gluten already present in the flour. Calcium sulfate. Sodium stearoyl lactylate. Monoglycerides. Calcium iodate. Calcium dioxide. Datem. Calcium propionate. Ammonium sulfate. Azodicarbonamide. Dicalcium phosphate. Diammonium phosphate. Calcium peroxide.
That is not bread. That is an industrial manufacturing process that happens to produce something vaguely bread-shaped at the end.

New report by The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF), Dec. 15, 2025:
CALGARY, AB: The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms announces its latest publication, Death by a thousand clicks: The rise of internet censorship and control in Canada, authored by veteran journalist and researcher Nigel Hannaford. The report outlines how recommendations from the Broadcasting and Telecommunications Legislative Review Panel in 2020 set the stage for a series of federal bills that have collectively transformed Canada’s once open internet into a state-managed digital environment that restricts what Canadians may access, share, and say online.
The report highlights the following federal legislation:
Online Streaming Act (C-11):
Online News Act (C-18):
Online Harms Act (C-63):
Strong Borders Act (C-2):
Combatting Hate Act (C-9):
Report author Nigel Hannaford said, “It is important for Canadians to know that these bills are not isolated technical updates. Together they form a coordinated shift toward state-managed digital speech.”
“If we value open debate, privacy, and democratic accountability, we need to repeal the laws already passed and stop the ones now before Parliament,” he added.
Benjamin Klassen, Research and Education Coordinator for the Justice Centre, said, “It is important Canadians stay informed about these important issues. An informed public is essential to a free society.”
“Through research reports like this one, our Education team works to explain complex legislation in a way that empowers Canadians to participate in the national debate around important policies and defend their rights and freedoms,” he added.
To protect free expression online, Canadians should demand the repeal of Bills C-11 and C-18, insist that MPs vote against Bills C-2, C-8, and C-9, and elect representatives committed to restoring a free and open internet.
